Join us for the renaming ceremony of Richard Tucker Square!
On August 28, the 104th anniversary of the great American tenor’s birth, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation will designate the cherished gathering place across from the Lincoln Center complex as Richard Tucker Park. The commemoration, which will feature remarks by Parks Commissioner Hon Mitchell J Silver, will include the reveal of the new sign, playing of archival recordings of the Brooklyn-born tenor, and remarks by his son and president of the Richard Tucker Music Foundation, Barry Tucker. The celebrations will begin at 11:30 am at Richard Tucker Square, West 66th Street at Columbus Avenue.
